The last few weeks we have been lucky enough to snag invites to two dinners and Wouter's apartment for Belgian waffles. The first- section A reunion- Harvard Business School never disappoints!
My friend, Natasha, an amazing NICU fellow had a birthday which was elegant, as always. Her host family in Kentucky (with whom she lived while an exchange student from Russia) sent a singing gorilla to the party with balloons.
Amazingly, the restaurant thought it was totally fine to let a man in a gorilla suit come and sing to a party. Natasha is incredible- has stories of her parents hitchhiking to get her to the hospital in Russia when she was sick with mumps, living it up with the southern contingent in Kentucky, and dating stories from hell.
Happy Bday, Dr. Natasha!
Julie, another NICU fellow, and me
Wouter, a friend from Eric's work and HBS, is Belgian and made the eponymous waffles! He is an awesome cook and always smiling. Needless to say, we did not eat dinner.
Sidenote: I think Boston is actively trying to make us move. This week it was 40 degrees almost daily and raining with hurricane-like wind thursday. Yesterday, we are trying to load a few boxes from our apartment into our car parked with hazards on in front. While I hold the door and Eric walks to the car with a box, we get a $50ticket. Today, a water main breaks and our water isn't potable for est. several days to a few weeks! We are ready for Texas!!!
