Baptism Day!

Boy howdy, I need to fix the background on this blog.

This week we were blessed with the arrival of the Grandpa and Grandma Hart and Aunt Louisa and Uncle Will for some baptism action!

The grandparents stayed with us and graciously accepted leftovers and Starbucks breakfasts and wayward drives to places like the Gaylord for amusement. We made the decision early to cater the baptism lunch so Grandma Julie wouldn't be on her feet cooking and could sit and play with baby. This didn't stop her from jogging around the neighborhood everyday, however.

Grandpa Greg was sick and kept his distance from baby for a few days, taking him on wagon rides around the house- a new favorite activity. Hal predicted when the chandelier would come into view, and squealed when it came. Amazing how a house can seem like a mansion to a baby!

At my parents' house Saturday for dinner:

On Sunday, Hal was baptized by his Aunt Louisa- her first baptism and he warmed to her immediately despite his stranger anxiety- looking from me to her and back and forth as though he senses we are the same in some way. We had Grandpa Dick and Jackie, Uncle Brian and Kelli watching too on the streaming video! Hal and the other infant being baptized talked and talked, smiled and cooed appropriately and Hal wore the gown Eric wore (made by Eric's great grandmother) over a smart white outfit.

Afterwards we had a casual lunch at our house for the ministers, some church folk and family. We are amateurs at entertaining but seemed to go ok! Thanks for all the chairs and extra glasses and everything to my parents! I'm sorry one of my photos is way too small- I need to get a better size one, but for now I'll post it.

Louisa and Morgan - thanks for the pictures, Morgan!
Just an extra picture, added for fun:
