Ive been instructed to post a clarification to my last post.
If we have a new baby, new rules are written about who is the most precious baby in the world, because clearly, there would be two. However, the rest of you have to wait at least 5 years to claim you have the most precious baby in the world. There can only be so many most precious babies. So, folks, stop reading too much into badly written blog hyperbole!
Except its not hyperbole as Hal is the most precious in the world. Of course.
New things this week: snowstorm extraordinaire. Backyard pictures:
This was utterly weird in Dallas. Nothing like I ever remember. Baby and I trekked out in the ice in four wheel drive to work every day but Tuesday when the office closed because the roads were so bad.On Friday, with all the snow we had a day to ourselves, loving the snow and going hiking through it from our house to Potbelly sandwiches in the Bjorn with our neighbor, Maria. We have very sweet neighbors. I even got a tour of her impeccably clean and organized house! She's not allowed to come to ours until Hal has gone to college and I have professionals make the place perfect.
Eric came home late friday, braving the superbowl crowds, taxi shortage and snow and ice. Ended up at my parents' house and borrowed a car to come home. We escaped cabin fever on saturday to meet friends for lunch- my pictures are poor quality (from my phone and I didn't get everyone in!) but we met the Gail family and Beasley family for lunch. David and Sara Gail- David went to Greenhill and he and his wife are lawyers and their baby Jacob is almost 5 months! Sara has given me great advice on all manner of baby related things and really knows her way around this mom-thing. Scott and Heath Beasley are coincidentally the Gail's neighbors and Scott works with Eric at McKinsey. Small Dallas world! They have a darling baby- Ward, who is a few weeks younger than Hal. Heath is a great source for cute boy southern clothing-smocking and the like- and Sara can embroider and sew. I think they should start a business. Too much fun. We're eating babies for lunch.
Hal is loving other babies right now- cheers when he sees them in his stroller and watches their faces so intently. Thanks for meeting us, Gails and Beasleys!

I forgot to mention that Georgie pooped in Maria's backyard and tore to shreds one of her dogs toys. Clearly she is nice AND insane because she invited us back!
